A large-scale RV remodel requires quite a bit of planning and patience. To start, we advise taking a moment to organize your thoughts. Walk through your RV’s interior and write down what exactly you’d like to change about it. If you plan to complete the remodel yourself, you’ll want to sit down and take your time to go over instructions, determine the necessary supplies, and look at informative videos. If you plan on taking your remodel to a professional, this is a great time to begin setting a budget. Consider the cost of replacement furniture and amenities as well as labor costs and decorative supplies. 

Design Tips

Our most important design tip is to replace rather than add to your RV’s layout. Space is an important component for RV living, and an RV can easily become cramped and uncomfortable if it is over-stuffed. For example, if you’d like to add a bench seat to your seating options, consider removing the small individual seats already present. This will ensure you still have plenty (if not more) seating space for your passengers without reducing available space. 

Future Use

We also want to encourage you to think about the future as you plan out your redesign. A majority of RV remodels are done because interiors become outdated and tacky. While we want to encourage your creativity to the fullest extent, try to keep statement pieces easy to remove, replace, or change over time. While a settee may be a fun design trend, it may not be the best choice for an RV where bumpy rides can knock you out of your seat.
